Absolutely wonderful and charming 1930s/1940s day dress. White rayon top with a deep V neck ( someone added a snap at some point for modesty to hold this closed) bordered in a white and blackish-green trim. There's a line of horizontal pintucking all round the bottom of the bodice. The skirt is a black crepe and just has wonderful pleating and pintucking both front and back. There's so much to love about this dress. Sleeveless, dropwaist, easy comfortable fit, and so so cute! Label reads: None. About a medium to large. Please see condition as this beauty does have some issues.
Good vintage condition, especially for its age. I would say this is still structurally quite wearable, though gently of course. But there are some flaws you should be aware of. There is obvious staining on the white, visible in the photos. Also on the back of the bodice are two small peas sized holes and a few other thin areas, and in the front is a stitched up repair near the waist. I believe a clever seamstress could back it and that would stabilize these. Also, just a note, at some point someone pulled the shoulders up and stitched them to make the armholes a little shorter. One could let these back out with a few removed stitches and get another inch or so of room in the armpits and length through the body, but I've left them as is. The skirt is pretty perfect, no holes or stains that I could spot. I have priced it accordingly to these flaws and it is as is.
