Stunning 1960s brown lace and satin formal maxi dress by Harold Levine for Al Cooper. This could totally play for Victorian/Edwardian with the right underpinings and if styled correctly. The bodice is soutache over a flesh colored rayon lining. Classic 1960s Peter Pan collar. Snaps and hook and eyes up the front. Long unlined sleeves with those gorgeous cuffs at the bottom. Now the skirt. Floor length, very full, rich espresso brown satin and honestly I love the deep russet color of the backing of this skirt as much as the skirt itself. Matching fabric covered buttons all down the front. All but the top three of those buttons are decorative only. Matching satin covered wide belt. There's two labels. One on the skirt reads: Harold Levine Original, which is the designer, and the other on the bodice reads: Al Cooper, which I believe is the store. I'd say extra large size.

Excellent vintage condition. If you go over every inch you'll come across a pea sized hole on the collar where one layer of the double layer of mesh. But you can only see it if you're really, really inspecting because the second layer just makes it disappear. And there is a small area of the soutache that is loose, but could easily be stitched down, and the wide belt covers it anyway. The only real issues are with the belt. The underside of it has some wear. You can't see any of that though when its being worn.

Measurements when lying flat. doubled at bust, waist and hip.
Armpit to armpit across bust: 44"
Waist: 34"
Hips: loose
Shoulder to bottom hem: 55"
