Vintage Book, The Tragedies of Shakespeare, 1950s

The Black Velvet Emporium

1 Available

Ah, the Bard himself. The Tragedies of Shakespeare by William Shakespeare of course. Published as part of The Modern Library by Random House. There is no publishing date given, but it looks like about the 50s and I've seen others given as 1959 so lets go with that. Red hardbound cover with black and gold gilt. Measures  7.25" by 4.75". Over 1200 pages, and six plays plus notes and a glossary. The plays are Hamlet, King Lear, Othello, Antony and Cleopatra, Cymbeline and Pericles.
Excellent vintage condition. Cover shows just a bit of age and life. Pages too. I did spot a few pages in Lear that have some notes from a previous owner. Only a couple though, the rest are as normal.
Please note: This is a vintage, preworn and/or preloved item, and as such is one of a kind and not eligible for returns or refunds. I do my utmost best to list any issues, but signs of wear should be expected, and there are occasionally small things I won't deem worthy of note. Please feel free to send me a missive with any questions. I'm truly happy to help in any way possible and I'm always up for a chat. Any accessories shown, including crinolines, are for display only, not included unless otherwise stated.
