Jerry Parnis was the sister of designer Mollie Parnis, who designed for First ladies and movie stars. Jerry was equally as talented as her more well known sister however, and had an impeccable eye for detail. This wiggle dress is circa late 50s/early 60s. Vertical stripes of varying shades of rich brown and white. A wonderful bow and that amazing beading at the neckline! Has a slit at one leg. Metal zipper down the back. Small sized I'd say. Label reads: Jerry Parnis New York.
Excellent vintage condition. Nearly mint. The only thing to note is that its been shortened at some point in it's life. The hem is turned up. I like this length so I've left it but if you want an additional two inches of length its a simple job to let that down as the stitches are secure but large. I actually suspect it was even longer than that originally as the designer label is half covered.
Measurements taken with dress laid flat. Doubled at bust, waist, and hip.
Armpit to armpit across bust: 39"
Shoulder to waist: 15.5"
Shoulder to bottom hem: 41.5"
