There's so much to love about this dress. I mean the two hip pockets alone! Black, 1950s, full skirt and more fitted bodice with dolman sleeves and sweetheart neckline. Metal zipper on the side. I'd say small to medium sized. Label reads: Al Rosenthal's Inc., Oklahoma City, Maurice Rentner. Looks and feels and burn tests like some sort of silk blend, maybe with cotton? Seems to be all natural materials. Please read condition.
Excellent to great vintage condition--depending on our POV. This is really so stunning, but it does have some things to make note of. One is it appears to have been washed. The striations and "texture" look to the fabric is another clue to me that there is silk in this. I have steamed it to within an inch of its life so its not wrinkled, it just has this mottled look. I personally don't mind it, I think its interesting, but there you go. Also, both armpits had open seams and one had a small tear. Ive repaired these as best I can, but I make no secret of my less than expert seamstress skills so you could perhaps do better if you're handy with a sewing machine. Priced accordingly and an amazing deal if you are familiar with this designer. It would be twice this if flawless.
Measurements when lying flat. Doubled at bust, waist and hip
Armpit to armpit across bust: 37"
Shoulder to natural waist: 15.5"
Shoulder to bottom hem: 45"
