Vintage 1950s Jewelry Box By Lady Buxton

Lovely jewelry box in a  gold color with darker gold pattern pattern in the top.  There is a small upper drawer with ten compartments that moves as the lid is opened, and a bottom deep drawer with three compartments. All lined in rich teal/mint velvet. There is a gold satin lining under the lid.  Measures about 11.25" long and 8" wide. The box stands about 3.5" tall. Stamped on the bottom with "Lady Buxton" .

I'd say this is good to great vintage condition. Its very usable still and structurally works fabulously. But it shows many signs of life and use. There are obvious marks and stains to the exterior and a green mark on one side. Inside the velvet is dusty. I have been working at that and will continue to do so but please expect there to still be some as it was really quite excessive when I got it. The gold satin of the lid has lots of pinholes from brooches, I assume, and the pocket has lost its elasticity.  Priced accordingly and As Is.  Just a side note from me personally...at some point a lady must have kept some perfume in here or something powdered as it has a very, very faint fragrance of something that immediately takes me to the 50s. You have to put your nose right into the box to smell it but its there. I just find that so charming!
