Vintage 1940s Black Rayon Dress With Lace Blouse

This must have been stunning in its day, and still retains that elegance. Black rayon dress with a chiffon and lace blouse over the top. You're really getting two pieces in one here. Either piece can be worn alone or of course together. Dress has a pleated vertical sash at one hip trimmed with soutache at the top and lace at the bottom. Tank style bodice. Blouse is a sheer chiffon covered in lace. Its a dolman sleeve with shoulder pads. Metal zipper at the side of the dress itself, blouse has snaps and hook and eyes at either side. Small size, I'd say. No label.

Good to Excellent vintage condition-depending on what you're looking at. Me personally I'd wear this as is, but I tend to like that look of decayed decadence and elegance. The only real issue this has is the lace. The dress itself is fine, and the chiffon underlayer of the blouse is too, as well as the rest of the trim. One could remove the lace entirely or replace it perhaps if you dont care for its tattered look.  Priced accordingly and as is.
