Vintage 1930s Black Silk Velvet Skirt

The Black Velvet Emporium

1 Available

Softest rick black silk velvet skirt circa late 20s or 30s. Wonderful slits up both sides that were sewn kind of oddly ( and I can't tell if it was intentional or not actually) to give the bottom hem a slightly asymmetrical look and give some fun shape and movement when you walk. Grosgrain ribbon inside the waist band. Two hook and eye closures at the waist on the side followed by three snaps underneath down the hip. No label, most certainly homemade. Small size.

Good vintage condition. There are three or four small pea sized holes and worn areas in the velvet. They don't seem to be threatening the skirt structurally and its still very wearable. I did notice 2 areas on the side seams that have a bit of pulling maybe half an inch long if that. Those could easily be shored up and stabilized.

Measurements when lying flat. Doubled at waist and hip.
Waist: 28"
Hip: 40"
Waist to bottom hem: 29"

Please note: These are vintage, preworn and/or preloved items. I do my utmost best to list any issues, but signs of wear should be expected, and there are occasionally small things I won't deem worthy of note. Please feel free to send me a missive with any questions. I'm truly happy to help in any way possible and I'm always up for a chat. Any accessories shown, including crinolines, are for display only, not included unless otherwise stated.
