Vintage Framed Oil Painting on Pressed Wood, Nomadic Horse Art Print

Mint Chips Vintage Home Goods

1 Available

Fascinating painting of what appears to be a nomadic group of horsemen moving a herd of horses. In the orientalist style. Framed in a golden carved wooden frame. The image itself looks very much like an original painting, one can see brushstrokes etc.. but I believe it is a print attached to a pressed woodboard. The brush strokes may be a decoupage or other form of varnish. From my research I believe this is a type of wall art that was popular in the later Victorian and Edwardian years. I have no real way to determine its exact age however, and there are no identifying marks or signatures. The whole thing measures 15.5" tall and 23.5" wide, including the frame and is about 1" deep. There is a wire for hanging. Unsigned, or at least I have not been able to locate any signature whatsoever.

Excellent vintage condition. There are some chips in the wood frame, but to me they only add charm. I did spot a couple very minor scratches on the image, and it doesn't quite fit perfectly into the frame so it may need to be more firmly set in.

Please note that many of my items are vintage and/or made using vintage materials. I do my best to list any major issues but some signs of life and love are to be expected and only add to their charm.
