1940s Green Pleated Hat by D Charles

Toadstool Farm Vintage

Darling little fascinator hat, circa 1940s with trim of clear green beads. I as unable to pinpoint exactly what style of hat this is but it seems to be a sort of cross between a postilion and perhaps a toque or pillbox. Its truly unique and oh so charming whatever style it is! Its created from pleats of green fabric ( feels like rayon perhaps) folded down to make an interesting shape on top where the beading is. Label reads: D Charles. Measures 20" round the inside grosgrain band and its meant to perch, probably at a slight tilt, on the crown of the head. It does include two small combs on either side to help secure it on.

Excellent vintage condition. The hat itself is pretty much perfect. The beading looks like it could do with a stitch or two to stabilize it and there was probably another little row of it that has gone missing over the years.

Please note: These are vintage, preworn and/or preloved items. I do my best to list any issues, but signs of wear should be expected. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
