Delightful Victorian era fire screen. Needlepoint of flowers in various muted shades mounted on wood and on a carved wooden stand. I am not sure what wood this is, perhaps walnut? The screen's height can adjust via hardware on the back. It was used originally to protect a woman's face from the heat of a fire. Stands about 48" tall and the screen itself is about 17.5" wide and 12" tall. PLEASE NOTE: The shipping given of FREE is not accurate. As this is somewhat larger and has glass it will need to be quoted based on your location and the final weight of the package. Please contact me for a quote prior to placing your order as cancelations after ordering due to shipping costs will NOT be honored.
Excellent vintage condition. For its age. t appears to be missing a finial on top of the stand, there are signs of life and use to the wooden frame, the back of the screen and the hardware. The needlepoint itself is nearly perfect though I wonder if it's lost some color over the years.
Please note that many of my items are vintage and/or made using vintage materials. I do my best to list any major issues but some signs of life and love are to be expected and only add to their charm.
