Absolutely fantastic latest Victorian or early Edwardian edition of Nathaniel Hawthorne's "Twice-Told Tales". Published between 1871 and 1919 by Hurst & Co, New York. Beautifully done in cream linen cover with silver gilt and a pretty pastel colored illustration and flowers. Inside the front cover is the penciled name of a previous owner, "Norma Cherry" and there is a scarp of dusty pink satin ribbon left behind as a bookmark.
There are some dings and scratches to the cover and spine and a few of the very first pages have come loose from the spine. Pages are charmingly yellowed with age. 305 pages. Measures just over 6" tall by just over 4" wide.
