Fantastically stunning black silk dress from the 1920s. Features the most gorgeous beading across the front and back and the bottom of the skirt, most of which I think is French jet. Snaps down the side. No label. Probably about a medium size. Please see condition below.
Fair vintage condition. This beauty needs someone with better skills than I possess to bring her back to life. I'm recommending this for pattern, study, possibly repair? Or just as a collector piece. It could possibly be worn, though I'm not promising anything, but only after stabilizing it as the shoulders are shattering, and it seems like some other places, especially on the bodice, is considering it too but hasn't much yet. There are also smaller places with holes and the skirt has a rather large one near the bottom. There is a seam under one arm above the snaps that needs to be resewn, but that's an easy fix. That said, while some of the beading has fallen away most of what's still there is intact and stunning, the silk is still soft and feels fairly strong once you get away from the shattered bits, and clearly she is stunningly gorgeous. Once repaired and treated with respect I think one could wear her, at least for a photo shoot or something like that. Please see photos, priced accordingly and sold as is.
Measurements taken lying flat. Doubled at bust, waist and hip.
Bust: 44"
Waist: approx. 28"
Hip: free
Shoulder to bottom hem: 45"
Please note: These are vintage, preworn and/or preloved items. I do my utmost best to list any issues, but signs of wear should be expected, and there are occasionally small things I won't deem worthy of note. Please feel free to send me a missive with any questions. I'm truly happy to help in any way possible and I'm always up for a chat. Any accessories shown, including crinolines, are for display only, not included unless otherwise stated.
