Beautiful vintage black blouse from the 30s or earlier 40s. There's so much to love about this blouse I hardly know where to begin. But lets start with the ruffles at the collar, sleeves and bottom hem. And the pretty asymmetrical swoop hem in front going round the back to a wrap style. Then tat keyhole back as well! Has side snaps and there are thread loops for a belt. Small to medium size, I'd say.
Excellent vintage condition. Especially for its age. There are a few pinhead sized holes, but nothing dramatic. And I did spot one seam that needs about an inch of restitching. The only real thing worth noting is that the keyhole back appears to have opened a bit more along the lower seam than originally intended. Its hard to tell exactly, but maybe two inches. The fabric there is still fine, of course, its just the thread gave way. I was going to stitch that up but then though better of it. It doesn't detract from the top at all, and this way, you can restitch it as much as suits you best, or leave it if you prefer the wider opening. Oh and the hook at the top is missing the eye. Altogether priced accordingly.
Measurements when lying flat, Doubled at bust, waist, and hip
Armpit to armpit across bust: 40"
Waist: 28"
Hips: 40"
Shoulder to waist: approx. 14.5"
Shoulder to bottom hem: 25"
Please note: These are vintage, preworn and/or preloved items. I do my utmost best to list any issues, but signs of wear should be expected, and there are occasionally small things I won't deem worthy of note. Please feel free to send me a missive with any questions. I'm truly happy to help in any way possible and I'm always up for a chat. Any accessories shown, including crinolines, are for display only, not included unless otherwise stated.
