VIntage 1930s Black Velvet Opera Coat

The Black Velvet Emporium

Oh she's glorious! A wounded bird but so so so beautiful even so.  1930s black velvet full length opera coat, with a big deep hood. Gathered big piping around the hood and down the front of the coat.  Ivory silk lining, puffed shoulders with some sort of stiff material in there to hold their shape, a couple of velvet covered buttons and a inside tie to pull the coat in at the waist for a curvy shape. To me it feels like a silk velvet, I have not tested to be sure, but its ver,y very soft and silky. No label.
I can only put this at Good vintage condition. She's wearable however but there are some things to be aware of. First so many seams around the hood had fallen apart. I have stitched them as well as I can but I'm a mediocre seamstress at best. They'll hold for sure and don't show anything against the black but you may be able to clean it up a little better. The inner lining is quite stained m mostly at the bottom. There are some tears around the buttons. Repair on those were beyond my skills and I didn't want to make it worse. There are still a few small seam areas that could do with a few stitches, but those are inside from what I can tell.  This coat has a lot of life in it and would be so beautiful with just a little more TLC tha my skills allow.  Priced accordingly and a steal for a coat like this.
