Vintage 1940s Mynette Black Nylon Dress With Pockets

The Black Velvet Emporium

Charming dress from the 1940s. The whole thing is bunches of pintuck pleats. Darling pockets at either hip, a really fun looped collar and cuffed sleeves. The bodice snaps slightly off center. Small shoulder pads, side metal zipper and thread loops for a belt. No belt though. Medium size, I'd say. Label says: Mynette, so wise about your size. This was almost certainly a lighter color originally, and has been dyed to this darker brownish blackish color. It was not an even dye job and some areas even appear vaguely purple. I actually quite like it this way, it adds character, but maybe another dye job with a dye more suited for a synthetic fabric would even it up some if you like. Looks and feels like nylon to me.

Excellent vintage condition. Apart from the uneven dye mentioned above, the only thing worth noting that I spotted are two small holes, one about a fourth of an inch long and very narrow, the other about pea sized and more of a worn spot rather than a hole. Its priced accordingly to these and the uneven color.
