Vintage 1940s Shirtwaist Ann Foster New Look Dress
Pretty brown and white striped dress from the 40s. Beautiful glass or glass like round buttons! High neck, 3/4 or elbow full sleeves. Pretty gathered neckline. Metal zipper on the side. This is a sheer nylon and would need a slip under it. Medium size, I'd say. Label reads: Ann Foster. Please note the sleeve cuffs have no closure so do check the measurement I've given below.
Excellent vintage condition. There is a pea sized hole on the front of the skirt, looks like a burn mark, but its more or less hidden in the volume and pattern. I'd recoomend a few stitches in the armpit area as there are a couple small areas of the seams there where it appears to be just beginning to come a little bit loose. Oh and some of the buttons are not the same, though they are so close you'd really need to be looking to see any difference.
Measurements when lying flat. Doubled at bust, waist and hip, and sleeve cuff. Armpit to armpit across bust: 40" Waist: 26" Hips: loose Shoulder to waist: 16" Shoulder to bottom hem: 40" Sleeve Cuff: 9.5"
