Vintage 1960s 1970s Plaid Maxi Dress By Jane Justin For Don Sophisticates
Amazing plaid maxi dress circa 1960s or 70s. Wonderful primary colors in big blocks. Rather highwaisted, and, oh joy! one side pocket. Large pointed collar, so ubiquitous of that time, and a fun bow tie at the front. Nylon zipper down the back, feels like a cotton. Bodice fully lined. Label reads: Jane Justin for Don Sophisticates. I'd say this is a small to mediumish.
Excellent vintage condition. The bodice lining has pulled away at the seams in a few places but its nothing dramatic and you can't see it when being worn of course. The only thing I want to mention is the left side skirt seam at the very, very bottom has a slit about 3 inches or so and I can't honestly tell if this was original to help with walking in this as there is no other slits or pleats at the hem, or if its just come loose. I suspect the latter but there are no real loose threads or other indications of a pulled seam so go figure. I'll leave it to you to decide. Otherwise this is pretty much mint.
Measurements when lying flat. Doubled at bust, waist and hip. Armpit to armpit across bust: 37" Waist: 28" Hips: loose Shoulder to Waist: 14" Shoulder to bottom hem: 57.5"
