Pretty vintage 1960s party dress. Dark pine green cotton velvet bodice, and a winter white or pale ivory damask skirt with a floral print. Large box pleats in the skirt, sleeveless, zipper up the back ( not metal). Bodice is lined, skirt is not. I'd say in the smaller size range. No label.
Excellent vintage condition. There is a very very very faint dime sized smudge in the center of one of the flowers on the skirt. You really don't notice it unless you're looking for it. There is tiniest bit of foxing along the very bottom of the hem, not noticeable really. The zipper is interesting. Its not sewn all the way down to the end. I thought it had come undone, but nope, it is intentionally stopped at the waist. It zips fine all the way, its just not sewn down.I'm not sure why the home seamstress decided to do it that way, but there are snaps and hooks to keep that part of the skirt closed, so I can only imagine sewing the zipper all the way down maybe somehow messed up the way the skirt lay when worn? You can certainly try sewing it though if you wish. I've left it as is.
Measurements taken with dress laid flat. Doubled at bust, waist and hip.
Armpit to armpit across bust: 35"
Waist: 27"
Hips: free
Shoulder to waist: 15"
Shoulder to bottom hem: 39"
Please note: These are vintage, preworn and/or preloved items. I do my best to list any issues, but signs of wear should be expected. Please feel free to convo me with any questions. I'm truly happy to help in any way possible and I'm always up for a chat. Any accessories shown, including crinolines, are for display only, not included unless otherwise stated.
