Vintage 1980s 1990s Linen Placemats, Set of Eight (8), White With Gold Embroidery

Lovely set of eight vintage linen placemats circa the 1980s or 1990s. Snow white with white and gold embroidery. my instinct says these are from INdia but there are no tags or labels so I can't swear to that. Each measures approx. 17" length and 14" wide. Has been gently laundered and ironed by yours truly.
Excellent vintage condition. Most are near mint with maybe a few loose embroidery threads. One has a half inch tear near a corner. Another one has a faint tan stain in one area, see photos.
