Vintage Japanese Floral Salt and Pepper Shaker

Mint Chips Vintage Home Goods

1 Available

Pretty set of white and floral salt and pepper shakers from Japan. Marked Nippon ( which would mean from about 1880-1921, as that was when real Nippon was marketed to the U.S.) but I can't identify this mark as a genuine Nippon mark, so I'm pricing it as a more modern copy ( still vintage though) . Nippon is the Japanese word for Japan, and during the above time period all imports to the U.S were marked this way. After 1921 the U.S required the word Nippon be replaced with Japan. These little cuties have a sweet floral pattern, and one of the corks is still intact.

Excellent vintage condition. No chips or cracks. Some paint has worn away but this only lends to its charm. Retains one of the two corks.

Please note: These are vintage, preworn and/or preloved items. I do my best to list any issues, but signs of wear should be expected. Please feel free to convo me with any questions. I'm truly happy to help in any way possible and I'm always up for a chat. Any accessories shown, including crinolines, are for display only, not included unless otherwise stated.
