Vintage Victorian Edwardian Blouse In Ivory
Gorgeous ivory cotton Edwardian circa 1900s or 1910s. Absolutely charming floral embroidery and pintucking. Peplum under the waistband. Waist has fabric loops for a belt. Higher squared neckline. French seams and mostly hand sewn. No label. There are decorative buttons up the back and then it snaps closed. These snaps were added at a later date they are not original to this. The way the back is constructed I suspect there were hooks and eyes originally to close this. I am unsure if the buttons were original or not. They seem like they could be glass so therefore it's possible. Larger size too, which is super nice, rare in these older pieces, but there is no give to this fabric.
Excellent vintage condition. Especially for its age. Very wearable. There is one dime sized tan smudge on the peplum and one or two other much smaller little marks. And I did spot 1 or 2 pinholes. Otherwise this is in incredible shape. I almost kept it for myself!
Measurements taken laid flat: Doubled at bust, and waist. Armpit to armpit across bust: 49" Waist: 34" Shoulder to waist: 16.5" Shoulder to bottom: 27.5"
