Stunning Edwardian dress circa 1900s to 1910s in the most glorious lavender purple color. Cotton just dripping in lace and embroidery. Pigeon front bust, with tiny delicate shell buttons up the back. Short, half sleeves, some French seams, and have I mentioned the lace everywhere? It is small of course, but not impossibly so like so many other dresses of this age. If you've been following me for a while, you know I adore these types of dresses! Some call them tea dresses but they are actually known as lingerie dresses.
Good to great vintage condition. Wearable with some tlc and repair beyond my meagre skills. There are some smudges in places and a bit of color fade. The issues that need real TLC though are a tear along the bottom hem about 8 inches long. It's on some lace though so with some clever stitching it won't be too noticeable. And then both shoulders and probably the sleeves need reinforcing and repair as there are tears and the fabric seems thin. There are some other small breaks in places and it is missing one button. See photos for some examples. Would also be lovely for display or study or pattern. Priced accordingly and as is.
Measurements when lying flat. Doubled at bust and waist.
Armpit to armpit across bust: approx 46" its a dolman sleeve
Waist: 26"- 27" the lace there gives just a bit
Hip: free to about 46"
Shoulder to waist: 15.5"
Shoulder to bottom hem: 55"
