Vintage 1960s Pink Silk Beaded Party Dress By Seaton Enterprises

Stunning couture dress from the 1960s in dupioni silk. Check that bodice. Its just dripping in heavy hand beaded rhinestones, crystals and faux pearls. Its so sparkly and so beautiful, you'll feel just like a modern princess in this. This is done with so much attention to detail that even the thread hooks for the 2 hook and eyes in the back are covered in beading.  Sleeveless, V neck, high empire waist and mini skirt length. Fully lined. Metal zipper up the back. Yes, the zipper works perfectly, but this dress is a bit small for my dress forms so I only zipped it up as far as it would go.  Label reads: Seaton Enterprises, Made in the British Crown Colony of Hong Kong. And it has a size label that says 8, but thats 1960s 8, so do check the measurements below. 

Excellent to great vintage condition.  I wish I could say this dress was perfect but it does have a few relatively minor flaws. The biggest worry though is under the armpits, see photo for example. Because of their location, however, you could probably patch them and they'd be quite unnoticeable.  There is also a much smaller pea sized hole in the back, see photo of that too. And a vaguely yellowish smudged area that is so pale it just didn't' show up in any of the pics I tried to take of it. The golden cast to this iridescent pink just makes it disappear.  Thats really it though, the beads all seem to be there and be nice and tight. Zipper works fine, fabric is strong, seams good. It could perhaps do with a better press than I was able to give it.    Its priced according to the holes I've described. If it were perfect, a dress like this with that special beading would be quite significantly more.

Measurements when lying flat: Doubled at bust, waist and hip.
Armpit to armpit across bust: 34" but barely
Waist: 27"
Hips: free to about 54"
Shoulder to waist: approx. 12.5"
Shoulder to bottom hem: 33"
