Phenomenal 1910s fitted jacket/top. Black and just dripping in French jet beading. It is fully lined in silk chiffon. Square cut neckline, little peplum type bustle in the back, short sleeves, and a very nipped in waist ( get your cinchers out ladies). There are antique hook and eyes up the front and some snaps. I suspect this was reworked a decade or two after its original creation. The snaps looks a little newer than the hooks and the style seems a bit updated, though if it was, it was done by an expert as there are no signs whatsoever of reworking. At least not that I can spot. That said, I have seen jacket/tops similar to this form that era, short sleeves were beginning to show up and the square neckline was common. Think Kate Winslet in her beaded dinner dress in Titanic.
Label reads: none. The beading gives this some weight, shipping reflects this.
Excellent vintage condition. The only real thing to note is some missing beads along the edges of the bottom and and neckline. Otherwise, its really extraordinary. I dont see any other missing beads though there are so very many of them, forgive me if I've missed something. There is some whitish marks and fade inside in the armpits, unseen from the exterior.
Measurements when lying flat:
Armpit to armpit across bust: 37"
Waist: 24"
Shoulder to waist: 15"
Shoulder to bottom hem: 17.5"
