Darling polkadot dress in white with black polkadots. 1950s. Sleeveless tank style with a scoop neck front and back, bullet bra bodice, and an asymmetrical waist line for a real cha-cha-cha effect. Full circle skirt. There's a metal zipper on the side. Size is in the small range I'd say. No label. Looks and feels like rayon acetate or similar.
Great vintage condition. The reason- the only reason, I might add-that this is in my Scratch and Dent section is due to some holes in the skirt. You can see the worst of these in the last photo. Its about , oh, maybe two inches long. There are a few others, smaller ones ranging in size from a pea to a dime or so. I am quite certain they could be simply patched with white patching and would not even be noticed in the fullness of the skirt. And the biggest one is right on a pleat at the side so you could even stitch that pleat down and it'd more or less disappear. Apart from these the only thing worth mentioning is some very mild color fade to some areas of the black polkadots. Not a big deal. This is a great deal for someone with even basic seamstress skills, or who doesn't care about the holes. Priced accordingly, it would be a lot more without those, as is and why it's in my Scratch and Dent section.
Measurements when lying flat. Doubled at bust, waist, and hip.
Armpit to armpit across bust: 36"
Shoulder to waist: 15"
Shoulder to bottom hem: 40"
