Vintage 1910s Book, "The Sketch Book" Washington Irving, Pocket Classics

Darling antique book, "The Sketch Book" by Washington Irving. Vintage clothbound in brown with touches of gold gilt. This is the Macmillan Pocket Classic edition, printed in 1915, and meant for schools. Its includes lots of stories but my personal favorite is Sleepy Hollow of course! I found the most charming little scrap of paper in it, a school tardy note for its previous owner, Cora. See photos. I love these little bits of history that shows a life well lived. It measures about 5.75" x 4.25" and is 371 pages plus some ads in the back.
Generally excellent condition for a book this age. There is the normal wear to the cover and spine you'd find in a book this old, and some of the pages have some bend marks and small tears. And there are pencil notes from the previous owner. But its still very sound and readable and a lovely edition to any vintage library!
