Charming vintage Sherry glass bottle with a very distinct Art Deco design. Its beautiful. Still has the paper label which has aged to a rich golden beige with black lettering and graphics, and which reads: "Sample. Select Sherry. Produced by Fruit Industries, Ltd. Bonded Winery No 52", and at the very bottom "Contents of this bottle withdrawn from a tax-paid pkg". The bottle is empty but has some dark residue of the original contents in the very bottom. It stands just shy of 5" tall. The Fruit Industries company has a very rich and interesting history. It was formed during prohibition as a way to use the by-product of the grape industry and to try to turn the populace back to wine instead of harder liquors. A.R. Morrow ( a viticulture legend) was one of its key members for years.
Excellent vintage condition. Some residue inside and around neck and age to the paper label.
