I just about died when I came across this dress. Gorgeous navy blue satin from the 1950s. Ballerina style bodice, fitted, princess seams, with small cap sleeves, scoop neckline. Lower dropped waist that dis down even lower in back and with that utterly divine "bustle-like" gathering of fabric all round. There is a metal zipper up the back. No label though I suspect there may have been one once, either that or this was made by a very, very talented home seamstress. In the small range I'd say.
Excellent vintage condition. I have spotted a few tiny pinholes and it appears that there may have been two darts in the back that were let out. One really has to inspect to see that though.
Measurements when lying flat. Doubled at bust, waist and hip. Armpit to armpit across bust: 35" This is a dolman sleeve so there's some play here Waist: 26" Hips: 43" ( taken where the bustle is at the hips) Shoulder to natural waist: 14.5" Shoulder to bottom hem: 45"
Please note: These are vintage, preworn and/or preloved items. I do my best to list any issues, but signs of wear should be expected. Please feel free to convo me with any questions.
