Vintage Antique 1890s 1900s Victorian Jacket

Stunning antique / vintage Victorian to early Edwardian jacket circa the later 1800s or earliest 1900s. Black silk with a brown lining that looks like a polished cotton to me, and boning round the waist for shape. Semi open front with a inner black pleated area. Hooks and eyes up the front on inner brown panels, and along the back to attach a skirt to. There is lovely black beading in a few various areas, a high collar and cuffed gently puffed sleeves. No label. I'd say extra small.

Great to excellent vintage condition given its age. It does need some TLC but a clever seamstress could probably make this wearable-albeit gently of course. The black silk does have some holes and some stabilizing would help here but it doesn't appear to be actually shattering. The inner brown fabric seems in good shape other than some sort of water or sweat marks. There is a lot of wear to the ends of the sleeve cuffs and around the collar. It is missing a button or hook closure at the waist.
Priced accordingly and as is. Would also be great for a pattern, study or display.

Armpit to armpit across bust: 35" barely
Waist: approx. 26"
Shoulder to waist at side: 15"
