Fantastic man's roman style tunic in white and gold. Worn by actor Richard Keil (I do not know if this is just a misspelled version of Ruchard Kiel, or not, but as several of the rest of the costumes in this collection had some known names attached and the size of this is so great, I sort of suspect that's the case). Outer layer is a woven white material and inner layer is a gold twill or similar. Pulls over the head and has a hidden inner back metal zipper and then snaps over that. My best guess as to age of this is circa 80s or 90s using some older materials. This is made for a large man, and is quite heavy, shipping will reflect that. Has one tag that I've found that says Parsons-Meares Ltd ( which is a costume house in NY started in the 80s. Under that is a 2nd tag with Mr. Keil's name. This comes from an enormous collection of Old Hollywood Movie Costumes I was lucky enough to stumble across. More about those later after the measurements so please read on...
Excellent vintage condition. Almost perfect. Just minor signs of life.
Measurements taken lying flat. Doubled at bust, waist and hip.
Chest): Because its a tunic this is totally open under the arms and just one piece across the chest and another across the back. Definitely extra large, but hard to measure exactly.
Waist: 55"
Hip: 82" and there is an inner liner that is 62"
Shoulder to bottom hem: 40"
PLEASE READ: I acquired an absolutely enormous collection of Hollywood movie costumes. Ranging across the board from Paramount, Universal, Unified Costumers and more. The last known film much of the items were used in was Lawrence of Arabia but we have no way of knowing which ones and there are others from other films. Most likely they were used on extras or smaller roles, I have not come across anything I can pinpoint to a major name from that film. Many of these were made much earlier, and I have found dates written on tags within from as early as the 1940s, though I believe some are even earlier. I have given as much information as I can about each item in the listing. Much has been lost to time however. That said, these are an extraordinary piece of movie history and I'm honored to be a part of it all.
Please note: These are vintage, preworn and/or preloved items. I do my best to list any issues, but signs of wear should be expected. Please feel free to convo me with any questions. I'm truly happy to help in any way possible and I'm always up for a chat. Any accessories shown, including crinolines, are for display only, not included unless otherwise stated.
